Τhe GameOver Project

The digital world offers many opportunities for learning, creativity, and entertainment. However, for many young people, excessive online gaming can lead to problematic behaviours that affect their academic performance, social relationships, and mental health.

The GameOver project is an Erasmus+ KA2 initiative that aims to address the growing concern of Problematic Online Gaming (POG) among students aged 12–16. It brings together partners from Lithuania, Greece, Spain, and Bulgaria to design innovative tools and strategies that promote early detection, prevention, and intervention within school communities.

Our Purpose and Focus

The main purpose of the GameOver project is to support educators, students, and families in recognising the risks associated with problematic gaming and encouraging healthier digital habits. The project seeks to:

  • Raise awareness about the impacts of excessive gaming
  • Equip teachers and parents with practical strategies and tools
  • Empower students to make balanced and responsible choices regarding their online activities

Special attention is given to students with fewer opportunities, who may be more vulnerable to the risks associated with online gaming.

Who We Support

The GameOver project directly targets:

  • School teachers
  • Students aged 12–16
  • Parents

By working closely with all these groups, the project aims to build a strong network of support around young people as they navigate the digital world.

What We Will Deliver

The GameOver project will develop and offer the following main tools:

  • Early Detection Instrument (EDI): A practical tool for teachers and parents to identify early signs of problematic online gaming.
  • Toolkits: Comprehensive resources tailored for teachers, students, and parents, offering guidance and activities to promote healthy online behaviour.
  • Online Training Course: A digital course designed to train educational professionals on prevention, screening, and intervention practices.

Through these resources, GameOver seeks to foster a balanced and sustainable relationship with digital technologies among Europe’s youth.
