Moving forward together in preventing problematic video game use

The Game Over project continues to make steady progress towards its goal of promoting a healthy use of video games among young people. On this occasion, the project team, together with teachers from the different partner countries, met in the Greek city of Nafpaktos to carry out a training event focused on knowledge exchange, joint reflection, and the practical application of the resources developed.

During the training, teachers and participants analyzed the results of the project’s previous research, creating space for dialogue around the main challenges currently faced by educators in classrooms regarding video game use. This reflective process was followed by practical workshops where real-life scenarios were explored, encouraging active participation, the sharing of experiences, and the development of new educational strategies.

One of the key aspects of these sessions was the presentation of the materials developed within the project. Participants worked with the different toolkits specifically designed for students, educators, and families, exploring how they can be applied both in educational settings and at home. This practical approach helped identify effective ways to use these tools to promote a healthy balance in video game use.

Collaboration among teachers from different countries was particularly valuable, as it enabled the exchange of perspectives and best practices at a European level. Through this joint effort, the Game Over project strengthens its commitment to providing useful, accessible, and relevant resources tailored to the real needs of the educational community.

The ideas and insights gained during this training will be key to continuing the development and implementation of strategies that support schools and families across Europe.
