On 15–16 October 2025, the GameOver consortium held its 2nd transnational project meeting in Sofia, Bulgaria. Hosted by the 149th School „Ivan Hadjiiski”, the event brought together partner organisations from Lithuania, Greece, Spain, and Bulgaria to reflect on the project’s progress and shape the work ahead.
The 2-day meeting offered a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas and strengthen cooperation. Discussions centred on the ongoing development of the Early Detection Instrument (EDI), an innovative tool that will support teachers in identifying early signs of problematic online gaming among students. Partners shared feedback on its current status and next steps for testing and implementation in school settings.
Another major focus was the development of targeted educational toolkits for students, teachers, and parents. These toolkits aim to raise awareness, encourage critical thinking, and promote healthy digital habits. During the meeting, partners explored how the toolkits will connect with the EDI and the project’s broader prevention strategy.
Beyond the working sessions, the meeting also included a school visit, allowing partners to observe local practices and digital learning initiatives in action. This helped ground the project’s goals in real educational contexts and sparked ideas for future activities.
As the GameOver project enters its second year, the meeting in Sofia confirmed the consortium’s shared commitment to digital wellbeing in schools. By combining tools, knowledge, and collaboration, the partnership is taking important steps to address the growing challenge of problematic gaming among young people.
