GameOver Project Officially Kicks Off in Bilbao

The GameOver project consortium held its official kick-off meeting on 3–4 April 2025 in the vibrant city of Bilbao, Spain. Hosted by Centro San Viator, the meeting brought together partners from Lithuania, Greece, Spain, and Bulgaria to formally launch the project and coordinate the first steps of its implementation.

The 2-day event began with a social dinner on 3 April, offering a valuable opportunity for informal networking and team building among partners.

The main working session took place on 4 April, with the agenda focusing initially on the presentation of findings from field research carried out from all partners between 26 March and 2 April. The objective was to explore gaming-related challenges within partner’s countries and collect data through surveys and interviews with students and teachers that will inform the development of the Early Detection Instrument (EDI), a key output of the GameOver project.

Further sessions were dedicated to:

  • Discussing the structure and objectives of the EDI.
  • Outlining the development of training materials that will accompany the tool
  • Planning the piloting phase and reviewing project coordination and management tasks.

The meeting concluded with a strong spirit of collaboration and a shared commitment to equipping students, educators, and families with effective tools to recognise and respond to problematic online gaming.

Stay tuned as the GameOver project continues to develop innovative resources that promote healthier and more balanced digital habits among young learners.
